Joint event with the Highland Rim Chapter.

Short Springs State Natural Area preserves 420 forested acres where the Highland Rim meets Central Basin geology. Dramatic ravines, cascades, springs, and the 60 ft. Machine Falls enrich the landscape. The area supports diverse forest types and lush spring wildflowers carpet moist hillsides. Recently TVA built steps for a section of Machine Falls Trail leading down into the gorge and a new footbridge over Machine Falls Branch. TVA also built the Collier-Horn Bridge connecting Busby Falls Trail to Laurel Bluff Trail.

We’ll hike the Busby Falls Loop, Laurel Bluff Loop, Machine Falls Loop, Wildflower Loop, and Adams Falls Loop. Meet at 9 am CDT at the Short Springs State Natural Area parking lot. Bring water, lunch and hiking sticks. Wear sturdy hiking boots. Register with Mark for details and updates.

All participants must sign a liability waiver.
