A $2 million treasure hidden in the Rocky Mountains. A decade of obsession that consumed thousands of searchers. A Netflix documentary that captivated millions. One finder. And a mystery that still hasn't ended.
On March 27-28, the people who lived this story are gathering in Tucson for Seekers Summit -- an international convention for the treasure hunting community.
The director and the producer of Netflix's "Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn's Treasure" will be there to share what didn't make the documentary. Treasure creators will reveal how they hide and design hunts. Hunters who spent years in the Rockies will tell stories that have never been told publicly.
But this is more than a conference -- it's a competition.
A live treasure hunt will take place on site, with $10,000-$20,000 in a grand prize on the line. And every adult participant becomes part of an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest treasure hunt ever held -- a record we intend to shatter.
Some people will come because they're active hunters. Some because they binged the documentary and want the real story. Some because they want to be part of a world record. Some because they've never found their people before -- and this is where their people will be.
