During these sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing, including tool use, safety, and core forging techniques. This foundational training prepares campers for the second phase of the program. These pre-camp sessions are mandatory for completion of the program.The second phase is a five-day intensive camp in Flagstaff, where participants will further develop their blacksmithing skills while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Campers will work closely with experienced instructors, take on more complex projects, and learn how to support and guide others in a forge setting.Upon successful completion of both phases, participants will earn the Tucson Village Forge Blacksmithing Certification. This certification qualifies campers to teach and help lead blacksmithing classes at the farm in the fall, based on availability.
