Jesse Fisher is a geologist and long-time mineral collector who, along with his wife Joan Kureczka, specialize in Fluorite and other minerals from the North Pennines Orefield in England.
Jesse has authored numerous articles on the region and was for 18 years a partner in the specimen recovery project at the Rogerley Mine.
This talk will focus on the history of the Boltsburn Mine, one of the premier Fluorite-producing localities in the UK. Located in the Weardale village of Rookhope, this mine produced between 1892-1932 some of the finest Fluorite specimens yet recovered in the UK, many of which can still be found today in both public and private collections, as well as the mineral specimen marketplace.
