- **Event Description**: Adult Stroke Clinics | Apr – Sep, Fourth Sunday of Every Month
Members and guests ages 18 and up are invited to join Aquatics Program staff (swim instructors, coaches, and the like) for monthly clinics focusing on some swimming basics that will level-up their lap swimming game! Clinics occur April through September, generally on the fourth Sunday of the month (except for May and July?third Sunday).

Clinics last for 1 hour (9 to 10am), and consist of a warm-up, guided workout and instruction, and a warm down. There will be time for questions throughout.

Prerequisites: some prior swimming experience and the basic ability to swim.

Participants are advised to wear a tight-fitting swimsuit, a swim cap, and goggles (all to enhance mobility and efficiency in the water). Sunscreen is strongly recommended.

Participants may register for any/all months they wish to attend. Clinic topics vary by month and are as follows:

April (Sunday, April 27): Flip Turns for Everyone: Basics and Intricacies of Freestyle Turns

May (Sunday, May 18): All in for Dolphin: Learning the Mechanics of an Effective Dolphin Kick

June (Sunday, June 22): Scull & Pull: Freestyle Drills for Effective Catch and Pull

July (Sunday, July 20): Off the Wall: Improve Your Underwaters to Swim Like a Pro

August (Sunday, August 24): Summer to Recover: Developing Freestyle Recovery for Efficient Swimming

September (Sunday, September 28): Backstroke 101: Basics for a Better Backstroke

Topics from last season included effective kicking in all strokes, freestyle catch & pull, breaststroke basics, freestyle side breathing, turns, and a review of swimming gear. Attendance at previous sessions is not a prerequisite for participation.
