Dave Gunning with special guest Rose Morrison
With over two decades on the road, Nova Scotia's Dave Gunning has earned a reputation as one of Canada's most engaging and respected folk singer-songwriters. A multiple East Coast Music Award and Canadian Folk Music Award winner, he's known for his warm stage presence, razor-sharp wit, and songs that celebrate everyday heroes and hard truths. Gunning has shared the stage with legends like Ron Hynes, Rita MacNeil, and Matt Andersen, and remains deeply rooted in his home community of Pictou County.
In June 2025, he travelled to Point Lonsdale, Australia to record Field Notes, his fifteenth studio album, a stripped-back and emotionally rich collection that gets to the heart of what he does best.
Special Guest: Rose Morrison
Rose Morrison is a Cape Breton–based fiddler and singer-songwriter whose pure and powerful voice captivates audiences. She has performed internationally, including twice at Carnegie Hall, and collaborated with artists such as Glen Hansard, Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, and John McDermott. Her debut solo album as a singer-songwriter, The River She Knows, established her as a compelling storyteller. Currently, she is performing new songs inspired by her 2025 Artist-in-Residence residency on Sable Island and is writing her next album based on that experience. Rose loves collaborating with Dave Gunning and will be joining him for this special show, bringing these songs to the stage.
