Paul is a comedian, writer and broadcaster, working in TV, radio, print and the stage.
Winner of the BBC Radio Entertainment Contract Writer Bursary, Paul has been on the writing team for over 100 episodes of BBC1 sitcom Not Going Out, the British Comedy Award-winning Miranda, as well as Top Gear, Buble at the BBC, TFI Friday, CBBC’s Andy and the Band and The Royal Variety Performance.
As a broadcaster, Paul regularly presents Radio 2’s Pause For Thought and Radio 4’s Daily Service, and has appeared on Radio 4’s Sunday programme, Christmas Meditation, Beyond Belief, and BBC1’s Songs of Praise and Sunday Morning Live.
His 3,000+ gigs include The Comedy Store, Montreal Comedy Festival, various cathedrals, hundreds of churches, and a dozen Edinburgh Fringe solo shows. He was the winner of ITV’s Take the Mike and was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards.
His books include So a Comedian Walks Into a Church (DLT), rated by The Independent as one of their top eight comedy books that Christmas, People’s Book Prize finalist Hark! The Biography of Christmas (Lion) and a range of children’s books, including the new Fantastically Faithful series (SPCK)
