A 2025 systematic review of 19 clinical studies found potential benefits for anxiety, mood, sleep and some physiological and neurological outcomes, although the authors emphasised that stronger clinical trials are still needed.Another 2025 systematic review of 14 quantitative studies reported that most studies found reductions in anxiety and depressive symptoms and improvements in wellbeing; some also reported changes in heart-rate variability and brainwave activity. Because the studies differed substantially in design, these findings should be regarded as promising rather than definitive.This is why I describe Soundbath as a complementary wellbeing and relaxation experience, rather than a medical treatment.What to expectYou will experience:* Himalayan singing bowls* Wind Gong* Crystal singing bowls* Therapeutic percussion* periods of quiet and integrationNo previous experience of sound therapy or meditation is required. You do not need to “do” anything — the invitation is simply to become comfortable, listen and rest.Please do not attend a Soundbath if you are:* experiencing an acute or unstable mental health episode;* currently experiencing suicidal thoughts, psychosis or hearing voices;* feeling acutely unwell;* under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.PregnancyAs a precaution, participation during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is not recommended.After the first trimester, Soundbath participation may be possible with appropriate adjustments. After approximately 20 weeks of pregnancy, participants should not lie flat on their back for prolonged periods and may be supported in a side-lying or elevated position.If you have a medical or mental health condition and are unsure whether a Soundbath is appropriate for you, please contact us before booking.
