Meet at the Joe Moffitt Trailhead off Thayer Rd (35.507548, -79.952986) at 10:30 am on December 6. We’ll hike out and back for a total of 1.7 miles, and we will return to the trailhead around 12-12:30 pm. 

Expect moderate intensity due to some steep and rocky sections of trail.
 
Darren Stebbins (Forester) and Noah Clements (Biological Science Technician) with Uwharrie National Forest will be leading the hike. Topics for discussion will include fire ecology, forestry, invasive species management, and wildlife conservation. We hope to see you there!

The hike is free and open to all but registration is required as this hike is limited to 20 people.
