The second show of our 60th Anniversary season is Blithe Spirit, by Noel Coward. This classic comedy, which debuted in 1941 in London, was the longest running non-musical to play on the West End, until Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.
Charles and Ruth Condomine host a seance, led by local psychic medium, Madame Arcati, and attended by their friends, Dr and Mrs. Bradman. Hoping to learn some tricks of the trade for an upcoming novel, the skeptical Charles is surprised during the seance to learn that Madame Arcati manages to bring the spirit of his first wife, Elvira, into existence. Only able to be seen and heard by Charles, Elvira conspires to rid him of Ruth and keep Charles to herself! Will Elvira be successful? Or will another evening of Madama Arcati's psychic escapades send Elvira back to the here-after?
Blithe Spirit is directed by Derek Dunavent, with assistance from Sam Jacobi and Xander Magill, and features:
Michael J. Schumacher as Charles Condomine
Rachel Brown as Ruth Condomine
Savvy Hostetler as Elvira Condomine
Mike Maxson as Dr. Bradman
