The 2026 HERF Spring Ball will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM in the Rainbow Forest Baptist Church Family Life Center.
This is a fun, conservative, vintage line dancing style event for older homeschool students. (Minimum age to attend is 12 years old and no older than 19 years old)
There will be live music and a professional dance caller providing instruction on how to enjoy the various line-style dances. This isn't your typical school dance. The HERF Spring Ball is a fun, fast-paced dancing event. Bring some friends and enjoy dancing the night away!

Dress style is neat & modest.
LADIES – Dresses should be knee length or longer. Dresses should NOT be low cut in the front, strapless, backless, spaghetti straps, tight-fitting, sheer, short, or have a high split above the knee. If unsure, please bring a sweater or shawl and plan to wear it for the entire event.
GENTLEMEN – Please wear dress pants and a button-up shirt at minimum. Tie and belt encouraged.
SHOES – Comfortable shoes should be considered for both ladies as well as gentlemen. This dancing style is very fast-paced, and you need to be able to move safely. No thin, spiked heels. No barefoot dancing for health and safety reasons.
Vintage style dress is also welcomed to enjoy the spirit of the Spring Ball.

HERF membership is NOT required to attend. Any homeschool student from Roanoke and the surrounding area is welcome to purchase a ticket and attend the HERF Spring Ball.
**Once students are checked-in, re-entry will not be allowed for safety purposes.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Dancing will begin at 6:00 pm.
FOR CHECK-IN: Tickets will be scanned at the door. You can have them on your device or printed.
PARENTS can enter for check-in and photos until 6:30 pm. At that time, parents should plan to leave the event to allow adequate space for the attendees to participate safely. We will have a photo backdrop available.
Light fare including our signature ice cream sundae bar will be reserved for students with tickets only.

- A homeschool student is defined as a student whose parent has filed a Notice of Intent to homeschool with his/her proper locality for the current school year or has claimed religious exemption from public education.
