CONNECT is designed to invite participants to slow down and breathe, let go and play and give space for self discovery. This class is inspired by the full moon and the Fall Equinox; giving an opportunity to acknowledge the change of the seaon and it's impact on our movement. Our pracitce will blend meditation, breathing exercises and movement all accompanied by live music. Letting the melodies of the flute, harmony of the handpan, beat of the drum guide you from the outside in.
All levels are welcome, no previous yoga experience is necessary.
Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you enjoy using.
About Dana Rivkin
Dana’s yoga journey began in 2005 when she walked out of her first yoga class feeling like she was floating on clouds. This feeling drove her to study different types of yoga practices and philosophies, and, eventually, drew her to begin teaching in 2011. She has now completed over 500-hours of training in a variety of styles.
In her classes, Dana offers breath focused, fluid movement with alignment cues that explore anatomy, personal development and playful discovery of the self. She believes that yoga is a lifelong study on and off the mat; one that can be practiced in a studio, at home, in the classroom, outside, on an adventure, at work…any time.
About Moon Kat Flutes
Mike Kapsimalis (Moon Kat Flutes) lives in White Salmon, WA. He has had a deep love and connection to yoga since high school and thinks it plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body. Always enjoying live music throughout his life and the body movement connection of live music and dancing, he has blended these two art forms with his flute and hand percussion instrument playing. Blending the sounds of flute, handpan, singing bowls, chimes, and other sound bath tools, he flows with the yoga instructor to help enhance the whole body experience. Providing sound baths for people has allowed him to deepen his connection to yoga and others in ways he never thought would be. Mike started playing handmade wooden flutes 8 years ago. 4 years ago he started an apprenticeship learning to make flutes that continues today. His flute business, Moon Kat Flutes, continues to grow and flourish alongside his sound bath performances.
When Mike is not making and playing his flutes, he is out in nature as much as possible. He loves hiking with his dogs and partner, tending to the land, identifying/foraging plants and mushrooms, or splitboarding the Cascade mountains with his buddies.
