The KindFolk Quartet

The KindFolk Quartet brings together musicians from Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland, who met in Trondheim and formed a friendship through making music together. The band’s music is built around compositions by Swiss drummer Gilles Schürch, who studied for one semester at Trondheim’s Jazzlinja, where he met his bandmates.
Shaped by lyrical melodies, subtle grooves, and a strong sense of atmospheric space, KindFolk’s sound draws inspiration from a wide spectrum of influences, ranging from classical music to jazz and popular music. The compositions grow out of intuitive musical ideas and are developed collectively through interaction, attentive listening, and spontaneous moments, leaving space for interpretation and for each musician’s individual voice to be heard.
