This is a family-friendly event–all ages are welcome! There will be a variety of kid-friendly activities including but not limited to:

- Farm-to-table educational activities and games with Oryana Community Co-op!
- Hands-on Compost Microbe Bingo
- The Traverse Area District Library will have their Bookmobile and Compost storywalk at the Compost Zoo!
- Blush Face Painting will be there for free face painting
- Art-making and sensory play with Let's Play! Studio
- Other fun activities like compost cornhole and more!

This event is part of the Michigan Organics Council’s Great Michigan Compost Tour. Food rescuers, animal feed operators, and composters across the state are hosting tours to highlight how surplus food, yard waste, and food scraps are rescued to feed hungry people or transformed into valuable animal feed or soil amendments. The other tours in our Northern Michigan region are featured in this event series. Most tours take place outdoors, so we advise participants to dress in weather-appropriate layers.
