About the event

Circus Incognitus by Jamie Adkins - Teck Family Series
The Trail & District Arts Council and Rossland Council for Arts and Culture present Circus Incognitus, a one-man circus comedy show from Jamie Adkins for kids aged 4 - 17, their families and the young at heart to enjoy together. The show is on Friday April 24 at 6:00 pm in The Bailey Theatre as part of the TECK Family Series.

An unforgettable, moving and hilarious show from Jamie Adkins, a performer in the vaudeville tradition of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. With no hi-tech distractions, he heroically battles with everyday objects, always on the verge of disaster. The story of a man who tries, but fails, to tell us something!

A story told with touching humor, witty tomfoolery, and acrobatic exploits both on the ground and on the slack rope! Enchanter of almost nothing, juggler of almost everything, Jamie Adkins performs astonishing and wacky acrobatic circus feats. All the while engaging the audience without dialogue but only with sounds and gestures.

Everyone will find something for them, from the youngest to the parents. It's fun, entertaining and it's timely.” - carrefourdequebec.com

Circus Incognitus is a pure marvel that chases away all the gray clouds in the sky to explode with joy and light up stars in your eyes. It's brilliant, there are no other words.” - Le Soleil (Quebec)

Show 65 minutes.

Recognized as one of the most talented contemporary circus artists in Canada, Jamie Adkins has performed Circus Incognitus over 1,200 times across 27 countries and continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of skill and humour.

“Here is a clown who transforms the trivial into the marvelous, the banal into the extraordinary and the everyday into a fairy tale.” — Les Inrockuptibles (France)

A renowned acrobat, juggler, and magnificent clown, Jamie Adkins began his career at 13 as a street performer in his San Diego neighborhood, where he delighted pedestrians. Later, in San Francisco, he continued his apprenticeship at the Pickle Family Circus. Now a Canadian citizen living in Quebec, he is a former member of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize, and distinguishes himself with his unique style that faithfully and humorously conveys the essence of the ordinary man.
