Celebrate Black History Month with an evening of live performances, youth voices, and community recognition. This inaugural event, themed “Black Brilliance: Illuminating the Path Forward,” highlights the achievements of African Americans and honors their lasting impact through the generations.
This evening will include an inspiring keynote address, messages from local county officials, a community awards presentation, music and dance, spoken word, and a student-led “I am Black History” segment.
Guest Speaker: Professor Manu Ampim
historian and primary (first-hand) researcher specializing in African and African American history and culture. For 36 years in the U.S. and several other countries, Prof. Ampim has given various presentations and professional development trainings on equity and racial justice in academic institutions from elementary schools to universities, libraries, professional organizations, community-based groups and organizations, non-profit institutions, faith-based organizations, correctional facilities, and large corporations.
