- **Event Description**: Umbrella warmly invites audiences to the official launch of our fifth exhibition round, 6pm Friday 31 July 2026 at Umbrella, 408 Flinders Street.

We will launch three exciting new exhibitions, 'Ore to Earth' by Natlie Ward, 'Nature Shrines' by Athena Costopoulos alongside the 'Country Art Case' - one of the National Gallery of Australia's touring art cases. The Country Art Case features works by Penny Evans (K/Gamilaroi people), Carol McGregor (Wathaurung people), Jimmy John Thaiday (Erub Mer people), Aubrey Tigan (Bardi/Djawi peoples), James Tylor (Kaurna people) and Lena Yarinkura (Rembarrnga/Kune peoples). 

The exhibitions are supported by public programs, including Umbrella Floortalks + Tactile Experiences 10am Sunday 2 August with artists Natalie Ward and Athena Costopoulos who will share more about their exhibitions, 'Ore to Earth' and 'Nature Shrines' respectively. As part of their talks, the artists will invite audiences to handle test samples and specific works from their exhibitions in a rare tactile art experience. This will be followed by guided tactile engagement with works from the 'Country Art Case'.

Tactile art experiences featuring works from the 'Country Art Case', will also be available for school or community group bookings throughout the exhibition period. The exhibitions will be on display at Umbrella until Sunday 6 September 2026.
