Visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on this perfect opportunity to log some miles for TennGreen's sixth annual Hike-A-Thon!
Mike Smith is on the Board of Directors for Appalachian Bear Rescue and is an expert on bear behavior. Mike will share his expertise, including the history of the area, on our hike. Black bear sightings are possible!
Moderate difficulty: Hike is 5 miles out and back. Some of the trail is rocky and features moderate elevation changes, but there are no creek crossings. Consider wearing closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate attire. Bring lunch/snacks, and plenty of water.
Meet at the Townsend IGA parking lot at 7945 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Townsend, TN 37882 and caravan to the Middle Prong trailhead. Keep in mind, the drive to the Middle Prong Trailhead includes sections of gravel road.
