- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 16 Jun, 2026 at 05:30 pm – Tue, 16 Jun, 2026 at 08:30 pm
- **Event Description**: Listening circle exploring the topic of climate emergencyAbout this EventA listening circle for young people about the possibilities and challenges of global climate change. We will explore our stories, feelings and actions relating to climate change and the natural world. This is aimed to be a space to nurture positive action to help our environment. The thoughts and realities of climate change can feel immense and, sometimes, overwhelming. These feelings can leave us frozen, disconnected or unsure how to act. In this circle we hope to offer space for the full range of emotions, from grief and fear to hope and inspiration, while gently exploring the perhaps simple changes we can make in our lives to care for our home. There is an opportunity to arrive early to watch a screening of The People’s National Emergency Briefing about climate change before the circle if you have not seen it already. The circle will be held in ‘The Way of Council’ form where a prompt will be offered to allow stories and experiences to arise, and we will speak one by one, with the help of a talking piece. Our hope is to help create understanding and deep listening around a topic that is often challenging and full of opinions and strong feelings. This is an opportunity for everyone, especially those with quieter voices, to have a space to be heard, a space to listen and an opportunity to explore the individual action you may feel called to take. https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events8/banners/0e6f1090-5b7f-11f1-b755-ad545dd129c5-rimg-w1200-h608-dc452c14-gmir.jpg When is it?We will gather in the Bridgetown yurt on June 17th 2026 from 5:30pm for the film screening and 6.30 for the circle. There was lots of deep emotion, connection and warmth for each other and it was such a wonderful space to deeply listen.""The space was held without pressure or judgement - I came away with a warm feeling of acceptance after being included in this safe and respectful circle. "" An inclusive and safe environment was created so that we could explore and hear different perspectives from the heart of people's experience. For me the circle was deeply healing and enlightening. These circles, on many different subjects, are part of the answer to weaving our fractured communities back together. Highly highly recommended.""The circle was inclusive, illuminating, supportive and heartening. Beautifully held with tenderness and authenticity and lovely to be a part of.
