This workshop is led by Aga Eden (Instagram: @element.aga )
Aga is an artist and workshop facilitator based in Exeter. Her work is rooted in traditional folk arts. Through workshops and community gatherings, Aga invites participants to slow down, reconnect with nature, and explore the rich stories embedded in traditional crafts.
The folklore and mythology surrounding Pisanki comes from ancient seasonal rituals and pre-Christian beliefs that celebrated the return of the sun and the renewal of life. Long before Christianity, decorated eggs were created as protective talismans—symbols of fertility, protection, and cosmic balance. Specific motifs carried layered meaning: suns and stars invoked light and abundance, deer and horses represented prosperity and strength, and plant forms honored the rhythms of the natural world.
