Through living and practising together in a nurturing community, we will increase our ability to be compassionate and kind with ourselves, each other and the world around us. This retreat will introduce an array of Buddhist heart-based practices, including lovingkindness, compassion and joy, both on and off the meditation cushion. We will also learn practices to help counter the overwhelm and compassion fatigue many face, and explore how we can cultivate inner resources to help us respond with perspective, balance and equanimity, to the personal and collective challenges of our times.

The Barn retreat has been running accessible Buddhist and mindfulness meditation retreats open to people of all faiths and none for the last 40 years. It is tucked away in a secluded rural location on the stunning 550 acre estate of Sharpham, with homely and comfortable accommodation including single rooms for a maximum of 11 participants.
