How To Build a Dinosaur is an evening with paleoartist Alex Pritchard that takes you inside the world of professional reconstruction of prehistoric creatures. Alex will share his journey from toy designer and sculptor to creating scientifically informed models for museums, institutions, film and private collectors.
The talk explores how real skeletons are studied, how new species are interpreted and how world first reconstructions such as Berthasaura and Shri Rapax are created.
The evening includes a practical demo where Alex constructs parts of a velociraptor on a stand or sculpts a bone live so you can see the process from foundation to form. There will be time for questions at the end and a chance to chat in the cafe before the event concludes.
