- **Event Description**: The Youth Cabinet at ROM is excited to invite youth from across the Greater Toronto Area to participate in the 2nd iteration of the Future Ancestors Youth Summit, a dynamic event celebrating Indigenous voices, arts, and cultures, while nurturing community connections. 
 
This conference is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, aged 14-18, who are eager to deepen their understanding of Indigenous cultures, meet like minded youth, and strengthen relations within the community.
 
Planned and hosted by the Youth Cabinet, the conference will draw upon the unique experiences and teachings of its members, who are supported by Indigenous leaders, artists, and knowledge carriers. 
 
Participants will engage in a range of interactive workshops, including hoop dancing, storytelling, painting, and other artistic expressions, aimed at celebrating Indigenous cultures from various Nations across Turtle Island, while promoting cultural awareness.
 
In addition to the workshops, youth will have the opportunity to explore the Daphne Cockwell First Peoples Gallery, and connect with the extensive collection of over 18 million belongings at ROM. 
This event is designed to empower youth by providing them with leadership skills, creative outlets, and a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, all within a supportive, youth-centered environment. The Youth Summit at ROM promises to be an enriching experience that strengthens community ties and celebrates the diverse cultures that shape the city we call home. Youth will have the opportunity to participate in three workshops throughout the day, have lunch with their peers and explore the museum! Youth will also be eligible to receive hours as part of their mandatory volunteer hour requirement. 

Light lunch provided.

Workshop preference will be based on availability as multiple workshops will be running at the same time.
