- **Event Description**: Solo exhibition of fish inspired oil paintings and material experimentation by Stephanie Camille exploring pain, softness, and intimacy.About this EventSmall Fish, Smaller Tin is a solo exhibition by Toronto artist Stephanie Camille exploring chronic pain, illness, and the difficult process of reconnecting with creativity after periods of physical and emotional exhaustion. Through oil painting and experimentation with materials like metal and collage, the work reflects an attempt to rebuild trust in both the body and the act of making. The title comes from reconsidering the phrase “big fish in a small pond,”a feeling tied to youthful ignorance, where illness feels impossible and the body feels endless. Faced with chronic pain and health uncertainty, that feeling has shifted into something smaller, slower, and more confined. Rather than only treating that space as limiting, the exhibition asks whether it can also hold tenderness, humour, and care.Bringing together older and newer works, the exhibition reflects an ongoing process of accepting pain while continuing to create with curiosity and emotional honesty. Stephanie Camille recently completed her Masters of Fine Art, and her work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions, group shows, and outdoor art fairs.Exhibition Dates: June 4 to June 28Opening Reception: June 4 at 6 PMArtist BioStephanie Camille is a Toronto based artist working primarily in oil painting, with recent exploration into other materials like metal and collage. Her practice has previously centered on intimacy, sapphic femininity, mixed race identity, and emotional vulnerability, while her current work reflects a growing interest in process-based creation and material experimentation, and rebuilding trust in instinct through making. Themes of chronic pain, health uncertainty, and emotional endurance move throughout the work, balanced by her saturated, sweet colour palettes.Stephanie Camille has exhibited work through outdoor art fairs, solo exhibitions, and group gallery shows, while also using social media as a way to connect more directly with her audience and share her creative process. She recently completed her Masters of Fine Art and plans to continue her academic and artistic research surrounding identity, intimacy, and personal narrative alongside her studio practice.Metal Embossing WorkshopThis beginner friendly workshop is an introduction to metal embossing using recycled soft metal sheets and simple hand tools.
