(Toronto's premiere 1920s jazz dance band. Great music for Swing dancing and the super popular dances of the 1920s Jazz Age.)

5pm to 6pm: DJ'd 1920s dance music, bringing things to eat is welcome.
6pm: 1920s Partner Charleston lesson.
6:30-7:40pm: Learn some of the wonderful super popular easy-to-learn traveling partner dances of the Jazz Age - Vernacular 1920s Fox Trot, One Step and Two Step.

More about 1920s Fox Trot and Charleston:
These are fun easy-to-learn vernacular dances. Fox Trot in the Jazz Age was is broad concept, it is vernacular and improvisational, and was by far the most popular dance of the time. The basic is just walking. It can also include One Step, Two Step, and alternating between slow and quick steps, and is suited for all tempos of music from fast to slow. It is not modern Ballroom Foxtrot. 

The swing music from the Jazz Age and Swing Era that is played at swing dances today, is almost always described, on the original records and sheet music, as music for Fox Trot (the vernacular Fox Trot of the time). (Because that is what people mostly danced then, including to swing music.) 

In the mid 1920s there was a huge Charleston dance craze. 1920s Charleston is widely done today, including by Lindy Hoppers around the world.

The roots of these dances and the music they were typically done to is African American.
