Buddies in Bad Times Theatre
12 Alexander Street, Toronto, Canada
We teach you everything you need to know in an emergency. From laws to first aid to, of course, striking, we teach it all!
We're hosting another self-defence class, tailored specifically for the queer community! No registration is required! Just show up! A place for anyone to learn precious skills that ultimately make you more confident and your loved ones safer.
Hosted in the oldest queer theatre in the world, we don't just teach you how to punch. We teach you everything you need to know in an emergency. From laws to first aid to, of course, striking, we teach it all.
Instruction is led by Aidan McKendrick (He/Him), a security professional and Katy SB (She/They), a black belt martial artist.
By the end, you’ll have important knowledge and physical skills to protect yourself and others at the most affordable price around!
The venue is fully accessible except for the washrooms, which require staff to run the elevator. Class is majority sit-down lecture style, with the last third being physical practice. Instructors will make every effort to accommodate accessibility needs.
Please contact us if you have specific needs or have questions. We are planning a masked and accessibility focus class in the near future.
