What is Open Rescue?
An above-ground, open form of direct action which involves entering places where animals are being enslaved, documenting their lives, and liberating them.
Open rescue provides a window into the world of animal use - one traditionally shrouded in secrecy and deceit. It is a powerful statement of our opposition to an oppressive system.
To the individuals who are rescued, open rescue means the world. It saves animals, and tells their stories.
This training is an introduction to Open Rescue for activists looking to deepen their understanding & prepare to assist with this type of work. Not everyone involved in Open Rescue participated in field work - there are many roles needed to support. This training will also look at the current climate for animal rescue activists and the animal agriculture industries around the world.
