"description": "Kim’s love of nature started at a young age thanks to going on many camping and canoeing trips with her family. Her Dad would get so excited whenever he’d see an interesting animal or bird, and he shared that contagious excitement with her. This love of nature led Kim to complete an undergraduate degree in Ecology and a Master’s degree in Biology, and to work for more than 10 years as a Field Ecologist, where she has conducted studies on many plants, animals, birds, fish, bugs and ecosystems. Kim first learned about Nature Journaling in early 2022 and has filled more than 5 journals to date with her sketches, endless curiosity, nature cartoons, poetry, and even some nerdy scientific mini-studies. Overall, Nature Journaling has deepened her connection with nature, enriched her experiences outside, and proved to be a fulfilling and healing mindfulness practice rich with rewards. One of her current goals is to help spread her love and enjoyment of nature through the Toronto Nature Journal Club, leading Nature Journaling and bird watching workshops at nature-related festivals, and acting as a guide for nature-related experiences in Toronto."
