Get ready for a night of out-of-this-world performance at Arterial as thrilling saxman and acclaimed storyteller John Sobol tackles such provocative questions as who are they? and what do they want? with humour, imagination and more than a few cosmic surprises. This high-energy cabaret touches on everything from Apollo XI to the life and music of Sun Ra, from quantum physics to the Telepathy Tapes, and from intergalactic communication to the recent US Congressional hearings into secret space programs. Juicy Woo-Woo also features plenty of live music, including a spine-tingling saxophonic Pink Floyd cover!

Whether you’re a believer or an experiencer, a seeker or a skeptic, or just someone who likes to be entertained by great stories and kickass sax playing, Juicy Woo-Woo is the show for you.

John Sobol is a soulful saxman and wildly entertaining action poet who has performed in venues ranging from the Montreal International Jazz Festival to the Vancouver Folk Festival, from St. Mark’s Poetry Project in New York to the CNE Bandshell and The Music Gallery in Toronto, among countless other spots across Canada and internationally. He has had 6 books published, including Digitopia Blues – Race, Technology and the American Voice (Banff Centre Press) and a pair of children’s books – Friend or Foe? and Born – by Toronto’s Groundwood Press. He has also performed alongside many Toronto legends, including Lillian Allen, Clifton Joseph, Bob Wiseman, Tim Posgate, Paul Dutton, Mary Margaret O’Hara and Tom Walsh, and he was a long-time member of Classic Albums Live.
