What a voice! I already knew Michael’s beautiful piano playing from when he accompanied Kellylee Evans at her concert here back in March, so hearing the two of them together felt like something really special. I reached out to Michael, who kindly arranged everything, and I’m truly honoured — and very excited — to welcome them both into my home.Alana Bridgewater is a Toronto-based singer, actor, and voice artist known for her dynamic performances across theatre, television and film. She gained prominence as Killer Queen in the Mirvish production of We Will Rock You and has appeared in numerous acclaimed productions, including the title role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom with Soulpepper Theatre Company, Spoon River, and Porgy & Bess. In 2025, she co-created and starred as Ella Fitzgerald in the Shaw Festival production Ella and Louis, a role that beautifully highlights both her vocal power and her gift for storytelling.Born in Newmarket and raised in Scarborough, Alana discovered her love of performing at an early age as a member of The Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, The Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir, and as a founding member of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale.
