We’ll journey through its evolution from a working-class enclave built by early Irish immigrants and robust manufacturing yards into a vibrant post-war cultural space for Toronto’s Portuguese community. A major highlight of our route will be a stop at the southwest corner of Dundas and Brock, where we will stand before the former Brockton Town Hall. Erected in 1882, this historic building served as the fleeting seat of local government, a fire hall, and a police station before Brockton was annexed by Toronto in 1884. We'll also observe the beautifully preserved Victorian row houses that line its quiet streets.
