About the event

Embodied Care: A Community Symposiusm
The Gathering is a two day symposium for Black 2SLGBTQIA+ community members to gather and get in our bodies instead of in our heads.

About this Event

Day 1 - Virtual Black Joy Retreat

The opening reception of the gathering with a reflective and holistic retreat for Black 2SLGBTQIA+ people to gather in building community care.

Through storytelling, somatic practice, and grounded rituals, we cultivate a space where restoration and presence are prioritized and healing becomes possible in community.

Day 2 - The Gathering (In Person at the Wildseed Centre)

The Gathering: Conversations on Mental Health, brings together LGBTQ+ Black individuals from across the GTHA (Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area).

The theme of this year’s symposium is Embodied Care: A Gathering on movement, healing and connection for Black queer and trans people, which focuses on teachings from Black 2SLGBTQ+ practitioners and community leaders on somatic movement.
