Saturday January 10th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) are ready to bring in one of the best and most unique cover bands in the GTA, CanAlians! Get ready for some Funk, R&B, Motown and Soul covers that will have you up and dancing all night! These band features some of our country’s very best musicians, so you better believe that the musicianship for this band is top notch! The show starts at 9pm. tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Alien Space Funk

CanAlians bring together a galaxy of playing experiences and bring the soul and funk grooves to life for your listening and dancing pleasure.

Fresh off a Fall season packed with sold out gigs in downtown Toronto, CanAlians are ready to land at the Linsmore with a night of hip-shaking soul/funk/R&B covers ranging from the 70’s on up. Carefully selected cover tunes include those by original artists The Meters, Donny Hathaway, The Specials, Steely Dan, Commodores, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Rufus, The New Mastersounds, Stevie Wonder and many more.

This band will funk up your life with alien space funk you never knew you needed! Come and see for yourself and chase the winter blahs away!.  Everyone in the band sings lead on at least one song, and together all 5 bring on a universe of rich harmonies.

The musicians come from a galaxy of past experiences:

Ross Ogden – (Keyboards, Saxophone, Vocals) who hails from Australia and has performed all over South East Asia, is a multi-instrumentalist now located in Toronto, Ross performs as a combined keyboard, sax & vocalist with some of TOs funkiest and most experienced musicians.

Blake Manning,(Drums, Vocals) Drummer and percussionist for Matthew Good, Rodriguez, The Heartbroken, David Wilcox, Tom Cochrane and more. He also adds lead and backing vocals.

Cameron Guest (Guitar, Vocals)- has performed regularly for many years as a vocalist and guitarist in Ontario cover bands, at venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe, the Horseshoe Tavern and the Beaches Jazz Festival.   He’s shared the stage with several Canadian icons including Doug Riley and Phil Dwyer.

Rob Reedijk – (Bass, Vocals) has performed with a great deal of highly acclaimed and accomplished musicians at many venues in Eastern Canada. He has played in many bands featuring various styles including Soul, RnB ,Reggae, Funk, Pop, Rock, and Jazz. He has also performed original music at the same time as his side career as a producer/composer/engineer.

Phil Smith – – (Vocals / Guitar) is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and has toured extensively over the years. Phil’s influences are rooted in R&B, Reggae and Blues Oriented Rock.
