beyond the initial trauma. Individuals with persistent post-concussion symptoms often present with overlapping musculoskeletal, vestibular, cervicogenic, autonomic, and nervous system dysfunctions that can significantly impact recovery. Registered Massage Therapists are uniquely positioned within the rehabilitation team to allow for meaningful patient education, symptom monitoring, and therapeutic intervention. This webinar explores the evolving role of RMTs in concussion care, emphasizing safe, evidence-informed assessment and treatment strategies that remain within massage therapy scope of practice.

Key Learning Outcomes
-	Describe the pathophysiology of concussion and recognize common presentations of persistent post-concussion symptoms
-	Identify musculoskeletal, cervicogenic, vestibular, autonomic, and nervous system contributors that may influence recovery
-	Understand the role of Registered Massage Therapists within the interdisciplinary concussion care team
-	Recognize common clinical presentations, red flags, and indications for referral to other healthcare providers
-	Develop greater confidence in clinical reasoning and treatment planning for concussion presentations.
Presenter:

Janelle Beatty, RMT, CCAMA, Certified Pilates Instructor & Certified Pilates Therapist
Janelle graduated with honours from Mohawk College in 2016 with an Advanced Diploma in
Massage Therapy. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario
(CMTO), is a member of the RMTAO, and completed the McMaster University Medical
Acupuncture Program through the CCAMA.
She has developed a strong clinical focus on jaw, neck, and head conditions, supported by
extensive advanced training in concussion assessment and rehabilitation. Having personally experienced multiple concussions, Janelle brings a nuanced understanding of the physical, cognitive, and emotional complexities of recovery. This lived insight strengthens her empathy, sharpens clinical decision-making, and helps her recognize subtle symptom patterns. She integrates evidence-informed strategies, individualized pacing, and interdisciplinary coordination to provide effective, patient-centred care. As a Certified Pilates Instructor & Certified Pilates Therapist, she incorporates movement education, and functional rehabilitation into treatment.
