Join us during Winter Break for special hours serious cold-weather fun! On Monday, January 5, the Kansas Children's Discovery Center is open for special holiday hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the new Maker Space, a hands-on environment where children use real tools and materials to imagine, build, and tinker, open 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Stick around and meet Discover Bee at 3:30 p.m. It's the perfect Winter Break stop for curious kids and the people who love them.
Please note the Discovery Center is only open for Noon Year's Eve ticket-holders on Wednesday, December 31, and is closed New Year's Day.
Regular admission applies, which is $11 for children and adults, $10 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 30,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, and building, the World's Tallest Climbable Sunflower, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom. Also, check out the nationally traveling Very Eric Carle: A Very Hungry, Quiet, Lonely, Clumsy, Busy Exhibit, which closes and leaves Topeka forever on January 25, 2026.
