The 8th Annual 2025 Sunshine Reggae Roots Festival is a family friendly one day music festival held in Downtown Topeka Kansas on the corner of 8th & Jackson streets outside of The Celtic Fox. Featuring national,regional, and local Reggae and Ska bands, DJ’s, Food Trucks (including authentic Jamaican food) Beer Gardens, Arts & Crafts vendors, a kids corner, swag giveaways, and plenty of vibes and fun for everyone!!!

For over 30 years with his acoustic guitar and amazing songbook, Chris has traveled the globe spreading the gospel of Ska,Rocksteady, and Reggae! We are honored to bring this legend to Topeka for the first time! The New Riddim will be backing him on our stage, and the vibes will be CRUCIAL!!!!!!

The boys are on a tear this year! Their Sugar Shack Session filmed/recorded earlier this year has the internet blowing up!(was the NUMBER ONE REGGAE ALBUM IN THE USA!!!) In addition to our festival the fellas will be playing this years’ CALI ROOTS festival backing our festival alumni Josh Heinrichs!
DEEPA REALITY FEAT. KOURAGE aka RICO LION (KCMO)
We welcome back DEEPA REALITY feat. KOURAGE aka REEKO LION (KCMO) Bringing the Roots since 1997! Will be performing a special set dedicated to the Crown Prince of Reggae, the late, great, DENNIS BROWN!
THE DUB VENDORS (KCMO)
This newly formed All Star band focus on the instrumental music of late 60's, early 70s Jamaica, primarily from the infamous Studio One. Many of these tunes have become the riddims used for countless reggae and dancehall tunes as well as sampled for other genres. Along with these tunes are a few originals that blend seamlessly with the Jamaican tunes.
The group is skillfully led by Steve "Duck" McLane on drums and Jack "Blackie" Blackett on tenor. You may know them from other groups, most notably The Blue Riddim Band who had an album nominated for a grammy. With them are Dave Greene on bass and Richard "Richmo" Faught on keys and synth.
