- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 11 Apr, 2026 at 09:00 am (-05:00)
- **Event Description**: On April 10, 2011, SSG Jamie Jarboe was shot by a sniper in the Zhari District of Afghanistan during his third deployment. After more than 100 surgical procedures, Jamie fought courageously for nearly a year before passing away on March 21, 2012.

Before his final breath, Jamie shared his dying wish with his wife, Melissa Jarboe:
“Take care of my fellow service members.”

From that moment, the Military Veteran Project (MVP) was born — a volunteer-driven mission dedicated to preventing military suicide and serving those who served us.
