Once a month, Bone Idol becomes ground zero for a full-throttle eruption of riffs, chaos, and cathartic noise. It’s the night we hand the stage to the heaviest, loudest, and most electric underground acts from Toowoomba and beyond.
This ain’t your average gig — this is a monthly ritual for the punk, metal, and hardcore faithful, and July’s lineup is a monster:
⚡ Exploding Head Syndrome (Brisbane)
Also known as EHS, these North Brisbane noise-makers tore the roof off last time they hit our stage — and we haven’t stopped talking about it since.
With a sound that fuses alternative rock grit with grunge-era soul, these young guns deliver tight musicianship, driving rhythms, and a rawness that hits you straight in the chest. Their live performance is all passion, sweat, and spirited chaos — no ego, no filler, just pure commitment to the noise.
They’re the kind of band that makes you believe in the future of the scene — and if they keep bringing this kind of fire, we reckon they’re going to go a long way. Catch them now while the stage is still small — because next time, they might be headlining something bigger.
⚡ Palinola (Toowoomba)
Our hands-down favourite local band, Palinola are a force of nature. They bring a wall of sound that fuses infectious alt-rock hooks, punk urgency, and metalcore heaviness — all delivered with zero nonsense and 100% dedication.
Originally a four-piece and now a lean, savage trio, they’ve only grown more precise, more aggressive, and more emotionally resonant. Their 2025 debut EP Static Divide was a killer statement of intent, and now they’re tearing up stages in Brisbane at venues like The Brightside and The Cave In, often bringing fellow locals with them as support — showing real leadership in the scene.
Frontman Paddy moves between blood-curdling screams and powerful clean vocals that strike straight to the gut. Brady hammers our house kit like it insulted his family — pure intensity with surgical timing. And Ambrose’s basslines? Relentless, locked-in grooves that carry the weight of it all.
They lit up the dancefloor last time and left us all wanting more. This set’s going to hit even harder.
