Hear the rhythmic beat of Toowoomba’s own steam engine as it pulls you along the tracks, offering a nostalgic glimpse into a bygone era. With comfortable seating and panoramic windows, you'll enjoy seeing Toowoomba from a different perspective. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a railway aficionado, or simply seeking a unique adventure, our Toowoomba Tourer steam train trip promises an unforgettable experience for all ages.

The duration of the trip is approximately 2 hours, including travel time and time to explore our Drayton Station precinct.

The ticket also includes museum entry, which includes a guided tour of the precinct.

We have two trips operating on the day - one at 9:00am and another at 12noon.  Tickets and more information can be found at www.downssteam.com
Adult $40, Child U16 $20, Family (2 adults + 2 children) $100

There will also be a sausage sizzle, live music and our cafe and shop will be open.

DownsSteam is a community organisation, run by volunteers, dedicated to the establishment of a tourist heritage railway for the Darling Downs. DownsSteam was formed to preserve and restore the last remaining steam locomotive built at the historic Toowoomba Foundry Company, C16-106 Southern Cross Works No 28 circa 1914. Along with our two steam locomotives C16-106, and BB18¼ 1037, we have also restored the former Commissioner’s Inspection Railmotor. Not only are you able to wander through our historic station and go on a precinct tour (including our exceptional Dreamtime Carriage), we also run rail trips to various towns on the Downs.
