Strauss's Four Last Songs and Death and Transfiguration ask the same question in different ways: how do we say goodbye? Angela Meade joins Alain Trudel and the Toledo Symphony for this rare pairing-music of lush reflection and radiant release. Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde answers in its own language, where love and death become indistinguishable. This is music that lingers-both in sound and in spirit.
