SALSA (サルサ) はスペイン語です。
英語でSAUCE (ソース) という意味です。
SALSAの語源は、SAL (ラテン語で塩)。このSALという塩に関係する単語は他にSALAD (サラダ)、SALAMI (サラミ)、SAUSAGE (ソーセージ)、SALARY (給料)などがあり、サラリーとは古代ローマで塩を給料として支給されていた事に由来するそうです。

いろいろな野菜、果物、香辛料などの材料が混ざってできるソースのように、国籍、言語、文化、年齢、性別など関係なく人が混ざって楽しむ国際文化交流フェスティバルです。

サルサ音楽、サルサダンス、サルサ料理をテーマに、カリブ・ラテンアメリカの文化が混ざった刺激的なフェスティバルになることを目指しております。
