JAPAN - 2018 LOF Lax Trip!

JAPAN - 2018 LOF Lax Trip!

LOFers- Past, Present and Future!

I have just finalized the details for the 2018 LOF Men’s Lacrosse Trip! This year we will be going to Japan! The trip will be from June 14th-26th. We are going to fly round trip from Denver to Tokyo (we will leave early the morning of June 14th and arrive back in Denver the evening of June 26th, so plan on missing 9 work/week days). On this year’s trip we will visit several different cities throughout Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and more!) to see some of the largest urban cities in the world, visit ancient temples and zen gardens, explore the world famous Tokyo nightlife, ride on the impressive high speed “bullet” trains, taste world class Japanese cuisine, spend time getting to know local people, customs and cultures, as well as play lacrosse games against local men’s teams. Japan truly has something for everyone! We are going to experience a completely different culture and area of the world from anywhere LOF has been so far. This is shaping up to be one of the best trips yet! This is not one you will want to miss!

This is the 6th annual trip (Europe 2012, Australia 2013, Costa Rica 2014, Europe 2016 & 2017); and everyone that has been on one of these trips can tell you that it is an absolutely unforgettable experience. Traveling with a team like this is one of the most unique travel experiences you can have. You will get to meet more locals, experience and see many places you typically would not, and in my opinion, is one of the most fun ways to explore and visit another country.

For those of you unfamiliar with LOF, it stands for the Lacrosse Outreach Foundation. LOF is a nonprofit started by Ted Baruch, is based in Denver, CO and has been growing the game of lacrosse for years. They do many things in the CO lacrosse community including running and organizing the Jamboree each May which is the largest youth lacrosse tournament in the world. They also enter a men’s and women’s team in the Vail Shootout each year. I began working with them as the International Team Director in 2012.

As in years past, I will be charging one flat fee for all players. The dues will cover plane tickets to/from Japan (round trip Denver-Tokyo), all travel within Japan, accommodations each night with breakfast, transportation to/from games and team events, game/field/ref fees, one of a kind team uniforms and swag, as well as several team dinners and events on the trip. The only other expense you will have is your own spending money on the trip.

The cost for this year’s trip will be $3,250. This is one of the most affordable way to take a trip like this. In order to lock down your roster spot, I will need a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit asap. The remaining $2,200 balance is due 2 months prior to the trip by April 14th. Please pay your team dues via Venmo or PayPal. For Venmo send to “Joel Tromburg”, for PayPal send to anRyb21idXJnIHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20=. Venmo and PayPal are both extremely easy to use and you are able to transfer money directly from the app on your phone. Please let me know if you have never used these apps and I can help explain the process.

If you are interested in coming along, please get your deposits in as soon as possible. I am going to cap the roster off at 16 players and I am expecting it to fill up quickly! Also, if you have friends or significant others who would like to attend, that do not play lax, we can make that happen as well. And if you would need to fly from a different city than Denver, we can most likely find a way to make that work too (there just may be an additional cost depending on flights). I am happy to work with you in any way I can.

If you have any questions at all please feel free to email (or Facebook message) myself or Logan Chandler at the contacts below. And please pass this info on to anyone else you think would be interested. Looking forward to another amazing trip!
