- **Event Description**: Out of the four Gospels, only two have a birth narrative about Jesus.  While there are similarities between the birth narrative in Matthew and the one in Luke, there are some significant differences. This study will explore the differences and what the author of Matthew and Luke intended to communicate to their audience with their version about Jesus’ birth. 

In "The First Christmas: What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus’ Birth," Marcus J. Borg and John Dominic Crossan accomplish two tasks: “to exposit these stories and their meanings in their first-century context” and second is “to treat their meanings for Christian understanding and commitment today.” 

This 5-session study will be an “eye-opening” experience. The first session begins on Sunday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m. in the Wilkinson Center.  (Copies of the book are available through you favorite on-line bookstore.)
