Good day everybody
It is just over one month since our new centre opening.
We have had some great press and what has really surprised me is the general public interest in the Seafarers Welfare Centre and what it does. We also have Lance Lukin from the Mission to Seafarers Wellington visiting us on the 4th of December. The Mission to Seafarers administer our Maritime NZ funding. With Lance visiting we thought it would be a great opportunity to hold an “Open day”
This we propose to hold on
Thursday the 4th of December 3 to 5pm.
The purpose of the open day is to,
Show the general public who we are and what we do,
Celebrate “International Volunteer Day” (5th of December)
Celebrate "World Volunteer Day" (December 5)
Promote the opportunity to volunteer in conjunction with Volunteering Mid and South Canterbury.
Promote our South Canterbury Seafarers Welfare Fund and Partnership with Aoraki Foundation.
Reach out to communities that better represent the nationalities of the Seafarers that visit the Port of Timaru in conjunction with Multicultural Aoraki.
A warm welcome to all at the Timaru Seafarers Welfare Centre at 19 Ritchie St, Port of Timaru
