In The Return of Katinka keert Katinka terug naar haar moederland, De Eilanden van Treis Méres. Katinka heeft in een visioen van haar moeder de opdracht gekregen om een magische steen terug te plaatsen in de poel van Mitra om zo de vloek van drie dagen te verbreken. Maar zal dit haar ook lukken? Als de koning van de Eilanden Katinka aanbiedt om haar, in ruil voor de magische steen, tot koningin te kronen, vraagt ze zich af of ze sterk genoeg is om de verleiding te weerstaan. Hoeveel is het individu bereid om op te geven voor het grotere belang?
