On November 6, 2025, Karlene Gonyeau, a member of the Adirondack Torch Club will speak on ”Sam Bellamy and the Golden Age of Piracy” in the lower level of Hancock House on the circle in Ticonderoga. Dress like a pirate (optional)! "Pirates' Booty" prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.

ABOUT THE TALK
The Golden Age of Piracy happened between the 1650s and 1730. Captain Samuel Bellamy (c. 23 February 1689 – 26 April 1717), erroneously was an English sailor turned pirate, best known as one of the wealthiest pirates of his time. He garnered many nicknames including "The Prince of Piates" and "Robin Hood of the Sea."

Karlene Gonyeau has been a member of the Adirondack Torch Club almost from its beginning which was over 20 years ago. She is a retired elementary school teacher.
