Asep Stone kam 1968 in Bandung, Indonesien zur Welt. Als Kind verbrachte er bis zu 18 Stunden am Tag damit, sich das Gitarre spielen selbst beizubringen. Sein erster Auftritt am «Gladiator Rocks Festival» in Bandung spielte er mit sechzehn Jahren vor 20’000 Zuschauern. Als Achtzehnjähriger suchte er die Herausforderung in der weiten Welt und löste ein one-way Ticket nach England – nur mit einer Gitarre, einem kleinen Verstärker und wenigen Kleidern im Gepäck. Mit seiner eigenen Band «Stone Free» tourte er durch das Königreich und wurde 2004 eingeladen, gemeinsam mit dem originalen Hendrix-Bassisten Noel Redding an einer Jimi Hendrix Auktion aufzutreten. Das Konzert wurde live auf BBC übertragen. Nach dem Konzert bezeichnete Redding Asep als «the closest thing to Hendrix». 2007 zog es ihn nach Zürich, von wo aus er mittlerweile mit der «Asep Stone Experience Show» und seiner eigenen Musik Konzerte auf der ganzen Welt spielt.
