- **Event Description**: Harmonious Wail is one of the only bands that combines Eastern European folk songs and American Jazz. Wail was established in 1987 and includes mandolin, acoustic guitar, double bass, occasional fiddler and female.
 
Wail's founder and leader is Sims Delaney-Potthoff, who  studied at Boston's Berklee College of Music, immersing himself in gypsy and beebop jazz music. You'll be reminded of musicians such as Django Reinhardt, Stephan Grapelli and David Grisman. 
Vocalist Maggie Delaney-Potthoff is captivating and equally at home scatting over a bebop tune, soaring on a solo or blending with Wail's tight vocal harmonies. And don't get me started on what she can do with a cardboard box and a pair of drum brushes. Both have won innumerable awards! 

Rounding out the Harmonious Wail quartet is Scott Hlavenk, gypsy jazz guitar wizard from Milwaukee Wisconsin and bass genius Forrest Evans.
