- **Event Description**: A hands-on way to help grow native plants for restoration projects (maybe a little weeding & cleaning) while taking a few home for yourself!About this EventJoin us for a short, 3-hour focus on native plant volunteer work where you'll learn a little and help a lot! Activities will change every week and depend on the season, but may include:- Preparing and sticking plant cuttings- Transplanting young rooted cuttings into containers- Learning, mixing and applying various soil mixes and fertilizers- Cleaning recent conservation seed collections- Counting and Treating/ Preparing Seed for sowing- Learning to transplant more 'delicate' native plant seedlingsAttendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. (Questions? email: paola@samofund.org)DETAILS:Volunteer hours begin at 9 am and go through 12 pm. Arrive anytime between 9 am and 10 am for the best experience.This volunteer work will take place outdoors at the Rancho Sierra Vista nursery. Much of the work can take place under shade, but volunteers should be prepared to stand for at least 2 hours and be exposed to the cold and sun for various lengths of time. Please wear hiking or outdoor working attire, bring water/reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a sun hat. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. (Questions?
