- **Event Description**: Join us at our Rancho Sierra Vista for a morning of native seed cleaning and learning about our conservation efforts.About this EventOur long-term goal for this project has been to establish a native seed farm, giving us the ability to collect seed for future restoration and conservation projects, particularly in areas prone to disturbances such as wildfire and climate change. The volunteer event will consist of cleaning native seed to ensure viability in long-term storage. Staff will provide training to ensure volunteers are using best practices. This activity is appropriate for ages 5 and up; anyone under the age of 18 will need a guardian present. This event will run from 9 am to 12 am.Come prepared:Please bring water, sunscreen, and a sun hat. Wearing hiking attire, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts is required. Gloves, tools, face masks, and water refill stations will be provided.Directions: In Google Maps, search "Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa Main Parking Lot''1. Park in the final, lower, bottom visitor parking lot: 'Rancho Sierra Vista/ Satwiwa Main Parking Lot'2. Walk on the path on the left side of the bathrooms3. Once you reach the Eucalyptus grove, walk toward the large metal door on your left (see attached)The main entrance is at Via Goleta and Lynn Road, Newbury Park, CA 91320From the Ventura Fwy (101) to the Lynn Rd exit. South on Lynn Rd for 5.25 miles to Via Goleta. Park entrance is on the left. Call or text 310-745-7637 if you are lost.PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME.
